Cars stolen during 'Hanoi burglary' in quiet Hull street

Police are carrying out "extensive investigations" after a so-called Hanoi burglary in Hull.

Three vehicles were stolen after car keys were removed from a house in Burniston Road, north Hull, early on Saturday morning. Two of the cars, a grey Seat Ateca and a white Abarth, are still missing.

In a statement, Humberside Police said: "We were called to reports of a residential burglary on Burniston Road, Hull, at around 8:40am on Saturday. It is reported that a person or persons entered a property between 3am and 5am and removed vehicle keys, resulting in the theft of three vehicles.

"One vehicle has since been recovered, but two others remain missing. The missing vehicles are a grey Seat Ateca and a white Abarth."

A 'Hanoi burglary' describes a crime in which burglars break into a house to steal car keys. The term is named after the first police operation launched to tackle the problem.
